About Us

The aim of this site is to describe some of the practicalities of riding a motorbike to people thinking of taking it up. We have concentrated on riding in the UK. As well as complete beginners, we think we might be useful to people in their first year or two of bike ownership. We hope this site will give those new to motorbikes some practical pointers which would have taken longer to learn without a specific information source geared to them.

Greg, our editor for this site, rode a 125cc two wheeler in London in the 1980s, then had a series of cars before passing his bike test in 2004.He went straight out and bought a BMW F650GS and used it to make some short tours of Scotland, did long-distance weekly commutes between the south coast and Yorkshire and used it for general transport in a variety of traffic situations. 12,000 miles later he traded it in for a Kawasaki Z750. He dreams of a Kawasaki GTR1400…
